Tehani Farr is a celebrated comic cover artist known for her powerful and alluring depictions of female figures—fierce, mystical, magnetic, and unapologetically commanding. An award-winning Mexican-British illustrator, traditional painter, and graphic designer, her work spans myth, futurism, and the eternal strength of the feminine spirit. With every stroke, she creates universes where gods and interdimensional beings traverse dystopian landscapes, where ancient power breathes through futuristic ruins, and where beauty and strangeness exist in sacred harmony.
Her art is rooted in the conceptual exploration of the human figure—particularly the female form—through the lens of fantasy, esoterica, and the ancestral unknown. Forgotten tribes, goddesses, warrior queens, and post-apocalyptic deities populate her canvases, each embedded in multiverses rich with symbolism and cosmic history. Her visual language speaks of ancient myth reimagined, of the primeval reawakened in the far future.
From the earliest memories of her childhood, Tehani was captivated by characters forged in fire—beings of discipline, purpose, and passion. Her first heroines lived in the pages of Tolkien, Hans Christian Andersen, Richard Adams, and the darkly whimsical tales of the Brothers Grimm. As she grew, they emerged on screen as cinematic icons: Lieutenant Ripley (Alien), Sarah Connor (Terminator), Leeloo Dallas (The Fifth Element), Alice (Resident Evil), Aeon Flux, Michonne (The Walking Dead), and more. In tandem, she was shaped by the legacies of real-world women—visionaries and revolutionaries like Marie Curie, Queen Elizabeth I, Hua Mulan, Mary Shelley, Boudicca, and Tz’akbu Ajaw, the Red Queen of Palenque.
“They became my mentors,” she recalls. “I read about them, studied them, wrote stories inspired by them. I believed, even as a girl, that we could choose our influences—that environment did not define us, but imagination could.”
“I draw warriors,” Tehani says. “Characters who inspire me to rise—to train, to focus, to push forward through pain and doubt. Art became my rebellion and my devotion—a place to tell stories that make people brave.”
Raised in the remote mountains of Mexico, within a self-sustaining, home-schooled environment, Tehani’s imagination was nurtured in silence and surrounded by nature. That solitary world became fertile ground for the mythologies she would go on to create. Her love for science fiction, historical novels, and dark fantasy—fueled by the writings of Stephen King, H.P. Lovecraft, Frank Herbert, and Tolkien—merged seamlessly with the cultural duality of her heritage. The sacred traditions of her Mexican ancestry intertwined with the intricate mythologies of the European Old World, giving rise to a singular artistic voice rooted in complexity, passion, and layered storytelling.
At the age of 16, she began working as a professional model to support her family, all while studying graphic design. In 2014, she stepped fully into illustration—a bold leap that would define her creative future. Her work quickly gained recognition in comics, video games, film, music, and fashion. Among her prestigious collaborators are Magic: The Gathering, Heavy Metal, World of Warcraft, Assassin’s Creed, Image Comics, Vampirella, Playboy, Conan the Barbarian, Puma, and Dynamite Comics, and many more.
Her international journey has taken her across the globe—to conventions and exhibitions in Tokyo, London, Paris, Los Angeles, Art Basel Miami, New York, Malta, Barcelona, Sitges, Colombia, Ecuador, South Africa, and throughout Mexico. In 2017, she began the first of four European tours with a landmark exhibition at the legendary H.R. Giger Museum in Switzerland.
Tehani has been nominated for international accolades and is a two-time winner of the Chesley Award for Best Cover Art, presented by the Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists. Her work has appeared in publications such as Infected by Art, ImagineFX, Beautiful Bizarre, La Jornada, El Sol de México, Times LA, and many others.
She is currently developing two original science fiction graphic novels—each an extension of her layered, visionary storytelling.
Beyond the canvas, Tehani lives a life shaped by discipline, wellness, and introspection. Her creative process is a daily ritual of focus and presence. Every piece she paints is a world unto itself—alive with intention, mythology, and meaning. Her art is not merely something to view, but something to feel—an invitation to courage, to resilience, and to the audacity of creation.
Today, Tehani Farr continues to work internationally across book and album covers, editorial illustration, film concept art, festival branding, and merchandising for the music industry. She travels extensively, offering workshops, lectures, and exhibitions around the world—inviting others to journey with her into the mythic unknown, where art becomes not only vision, but transformation.
